Open fire and fireworks prohibition

Kamloops, B.C. - Effective immediately, the use of fireworks and open fires are prohibited in the city of Kamloops, due to the recent warm and dry weather. This ban is to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect the public. During this time no permits will be issued for backyard burning or for the discharge of fireworks. The ban is in effect until October 31, 2012 or until the public is informed otherwise.
