EOC continues to monitor rainfall situation

Kamloops, B.C. - The Emergency Operations Centre is continuing to assess regional rain and river levels in consultation with the BC River Forecast Centre and Environment Canada. The City continues to plan toward peak river levels forecasted for mid-next week by the BC River Forecast Centre. The EOC is prepared to take preventive measures based forecast updates.

Residents in low-lying areas may experience localized pooling on roadways and boulevards due to sealed drainage catch basins. Crews are responding and pumping as necessary. Residents are directed to call 250-828-3461 if they are experiencing excessive pooling.

Residents are reminded that they should monitor local river levels and take precautionary measures as necessary. Sand and sandbags are available at Firehalls #1 through #6.
