International Go Skateboarding Day

Kamloops, B.C. - Skateboarders across the world will gather to celebrate the Annual International Go Skateboarding Day on Thursday, June 21st. International Go Skateboarding Day originated as a day for skateboarders to have fun, to raise awareness about helmet safety and to show the world what skateboarding is really all about. In the years since that first celebration, the event continues to grow around the world, but the mission remains the same: Have fun, go skateboarding!

The City of Kamloops and Oronge Board Shop are excited to host a celebration day at McArthur Island Skateboard Park from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 21st. The Kamloops Brain Injury Association Summer Safety Coordinators will be present to raise awareness on helmet safety and give away helmets as draw prizes. The Kamloops Graffiti Taskforce will also be onsite to meet and talk to the youth about safe places to play. The public are invited to enjoy free entertainment and hotdogs as Kamloops celebrates International Go Skateboarding Day and donít forget to bring your helmet and skateboard!
