Charlie Bruce named as BC Seniors Games President

Kamloops, B.C. - The BC Seniors Games Society is excited to announce the selection of Charlie Bruce as President of the Board for the 2013 BC Seniors Games in Kamloops.

A long-time Kamloops resident, Charlie was a school principal for 32 years in the Kamloops Thompson District, retiring two years ago. In addition to being involved for many years with local sporting community groups such as the Ridge Runners, Overland Ski Club and Kamloops Triathlon Club, Charlie is extremely active himself in sports. "2013 promises to be another outstanding year for sports and recreational events in Kamloops. We're extremely excited to be hosting the 2013 BC Seniors Games and look forward to a week of keen competition and memorable experiences for both the athletes and our volunteers," said Charlie.

Currently the 2013 BC Seniors Games are slated for August 20th to 24th, 2013. The BC Seniors Games Society is excited to host their event in Kamloops because of the city's great location, weather and facilities.

The Games involve 26 different sports and activities at City, School District 73 and private facilities, including everything from mountain biking and hockey to horseshoes and pickleball.

These Games, which will be capped at 4,000 participants, are expected to generate more than $2 million into the economy. Kamloops last hosted the BC Seniors Games in 1996.
