Marigold Mile Gets a Facelift

Kamloops, B.C. - Starting May 7th, City of Kamloops Parks staff will begin revitalizing the Marigold Mile on Columbia Street. Plans include removing the existing turf and replacing it with brick paving, irrigation upgrades and marigold bed upgrades.

This project is a continuation from last year, when the City put in new landscapes and irrigation systems to reduce its water usage and maintenance on these medians, while still retaining the beautiful floral displays that make it a Kamloops icon.

The facelift also includes the extension of Marigold Mile from the existing medians on lower Columbia Street through to the Columbia Street exit off Highway 1. Because of the popularity of the Marigold Mile program the City of Kamloops will be working with local businesses to add new marigold beds along this important travel corridor.
