Students Test Environmental Smarts this Weekend!

Kamloops, B.C. - In honour of Earth Day, local school teams will be testing their knowledge of environmental issues this Saturday, April 28th at Aberdeen Mall. The ten elementary and middle school teams participating in the annual Environmental Mind Grind Challenge will face questions on climate change, waste reduction, endangered species and spaces, transportation, air quality, and water and energy conservation.

Everyone is invited to watch the schools battle for the win, and to cheer on their favourite team between 10:30 am and approximately 2:00 pm at Aberdeen Mall in the Centre Court. First place will receive $500 for their school and second place will win $200. Additional prizes will be awarded to the most sportsmanlike and most enthusiastic teams. All participants will receive a gift bag with promotional products and eco-conscious prizes. This year's Environmental Mind Grind Challenge will be hosted by Stef. C. from B100, and promises to offer fast-paced fun for all ages.

Proud sponsors of this year's challenge include FortisBC, the City of Kamloops, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, Aberdeen Mall, and B100.
