Aberdeen Park Open House and Public Input Session

Kamloops, B.C. - The City of Kamloops is hosting an Open House to provide the public with an opportunity to have input in the future planning and development of the former Aberdeen Highlands Golf Course into green space.

The Open House will be held on Wednesday May 2nd, in the Community Room at Aberdeen Elementary from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. City staff will be on hand to share ideas and consider input on the fourteen hectare park with its spectacular city view.

Conceptual plans for the future park include: two playing fields; rehabilitation of the existing clubhouse building for use as a community hall; expansion of parking spaces; a 1.7 km multi-use path; preservation of the existing pond; and rest stops overlooking both river valleys. The majority of the park is intended to be naturalized to minimize water use and maintenance.

If residents would like to have a say in how this valuable green space is utilized, they are invited to attend this Open House or call 250-828-3750 for more information.
