Kamloops, B.C. - This year City Council introduced a new budget process, featuring multiple roundtable discussions with Councilors to provide residents with the opportunity to ask questions and review the City's spending. Following an overview presentation, the Parks, Recreation and Culture and Public Works and Sustainability Department budgets were each discussed. Attendance and participation at these budget meetings have been higher than previous years, and Council has received valuable input.
On Tuesday, March 13th, the final budget roundtable discussion will take place at Interior Savings Centre - Parkside Lounge at 7 pm. This last meeting will spotlight Development and Engineering Services and Community and Corporate Affairs.
If you can't make the meeting, see our recorded meetings at www.kamloops.ca/2012budget or on Shaw Cable on March 18th at 2 pm.
Final deliberations will take place on April 3rd at 9 am in Council Chambers. This meeting will determine the final tax rate for 2012.
So let's talk. By sharing your priorities and participating in the City's budget process, you can help create a strong future for our city.
