Kamloops, B.C. - The Chamber Musicians of Kamloops Society invites residents to attend "Strings, Winds and Keys", an intimate evening of mainly baroque and classical music at the historic courtroom in the Old Courthouse Cultural Centre at 7 Seymour Street West, on Thursday, March 15th at 7:00 pm.
The string trio of Cvetozar Vutev, Annette Dominik and Martin Kratky will be joined by Catherine Dochstader, flute, and Dimiter Terziev, keyboard, in trios, quartets and concerti by Bach, Vivaldi, Haydn and Mozart - music sure to delight the listener.
Two special features are included in the program: talented musical brothers, Ivan and Christo Vutev, on violin and guitar, will open the evening with music by Purcell, and Elizabeth Duckworth, Kamloops Museum supervisor, will open the second half with a short talk on the history of the Old Courthouse, now enjoying a renaissance as a cultural centre.
Admission is by donation and all are warmly invited.
The concert is sponsored by the City of Kamloops, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services in partnership with the chamber Musicians of Kamloops. All proceeds will benefit the "Boogie the Bridge Cultural Fund," which makes arts and culture accessible to the children and youth of Kamloops.
This concert is part of a ten-concert series of chamber concerts presented in celebration of the bicentenary of the founding of Fort Kamloops. Free parking is available. The building is wheelchair accessible at the rear entrance.
