Tim Hortons and City of Kamloops partner up for free skates

Kamloops, B.C. - Tim Hortons and the City of Kamloops have entered in a partnership to sponsor one free public skating event each month for the remainder of 2012. The goal of this partnership is to support families getting physically active and spending time together in a fun and positive environment.

Tim Hortons is an organization that has an excellent history of providing sustainable business practices through their local, provincial and national social and community engagement efforts. With this partnership, over 300 participants are expected at each free skate. Tim Hortons will generously support each event with hot chocolate as families warm up off the ice.

The City of Kamloops, in its continuing development of the Public Skate program, is excited to have Tim Hortons as a partner. The City believes in access for all and it is through these community partnerships this program can happen. The City will be providing skate patrol at these sessions along with entertainment such as face painting during holiday theme skates.

The first upcoming free skate to celebrate St. Patricks Day will happen at Interior Savings Centre on March 17th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Families are encouraged to wear their best green outfit and join in on the leprechaun fun!
