Kamloops, B.C. - During Tuesday's in-camera council meeting, Mayor and Council agreed on the process for the hiring of the new Chief Administration Officer.
Council carried a motion to have the human resources department commence with the posting of the position. They also agreed to hire an external human resources consultant to assist with the development of candidate interviews for the Chief Administrative Officer's position.
All of Council will be involved with the external human resources consultant in the development of interview questions and criteria.
An internal vetting committee will create an interview list and conduct first interviews with the successful candidates. The vetting committee will consist of the Mayor, one newly-elected Councillor and one incumbent Councillor.
Following the first interviews, a short list of candidates for the Chief Administration Officer will be recommended to Council and a second round of interviews will take place with the whole of Council participating.
