Kamloops, B.C. - Starting tomorrow until October 14th, the City of Kamloops will be carrying out repairs to the concrete roadway deck on the Eighth Street Halston Avenue Overpass to extend the life of the deck and maintain it in service. The work involves removing and then replacing deteriorated concrete from some areas of the traffic surface of the overpass deck. By removing and replacing the deteriorated surface concrete, the structural integrity of the overpass deck is maintained and its life extended.During this work traffic restrictions will be in place and delays may be experienced. Over the Thanksgiving long weekend, traffic will be restricted to one lane per direction. During regular weekdays next week, traffic lanes will also be restricted. However, additional lanes will be open during peak periods to accommodate additional flow.
The City thanks residents in advance for their co-operation and patience during this maintenance work.
