Kamloops, B.C. - During the early years, boys and girls need to be involved in daily active play. Children need to develop the ABC's of movement - Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed. The City of Kamloops is currently accepting registrations for Early Years programs at locations throughout Kamloops including Juniper, Parkview, Dallas, Hal Rogers, Barnhartvale, Aberdeen, and Arthur Stevenson. The following programs are offered:
This recreation program focuses on playing games, singing songs, and making crafts. Four and five year olds are in an environment that encourages physical and social interaction specific for this age group. The program supports the development of literacy and numeracy skills.
Discover quick and easy healthy treats. In this class, your child will learn to make healthy snacks. Recipes will be given to your family at the end of each session so you and your child can make snacks together at home! This program focuses on healthy eating, nutrition, physical activity, creative play, games, and songs.
Explore the world! Each week will be a new adventure where your child will learn through stories, games, arts and crafts, and physical activity. Your child will meet new friends and learn important social skills such as sharing and playing, all while preparing for kindergarten. Each session will have a different learning theme and seasonal activities.
The emphasis on this program will be meeting new friends, practising social skills, and having fun! Your Little Rascal will sing, paint, listen to stories, and play physical activity games. This class highlights and encourages your child's creative and imaginative qualities.
This family program is designed for parents, grandparents, and their children/grandchildren to run, jump, and play. Great for networking, you and your child will meet other families with children the same age. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to spend quality time painting, singing, and making crafts together.
