Kamloops Councilor Accepts New Position

Kamloops, B.C. - The City of Kamloops would like to congratulate Councilor John O'Fee as he accepts the position of CEO with the Tk'emlúps Indian Band. John will be stepping down from his position with City Council to pursue this opportunity.

John has served as a City Councilor since 1999, during which time he has represented the City of Kamloops as Director on both the Thompson Nicola Regional District and Venture Kamloops Boards. He has served on several City standing committees and commissions, including the Kamloops Airport Authority Society. As President of the Society, he oversaw the recent expansion of Kamloops Airport which has resulted in phenomenal passenger growth over the last number of years. The City recognizes John for his continued commitment to Kamloops and is pleased with his new appointment as it will continue to build the relationship between the City and the TIB.

"On behalf of Council and City administration, I would like to express our gratitude for John's hard work and contribution to our community. John's commitment to serving Kamloops residents not only as Councilor, but as advocate for a variety of projects and initiatives, has helped advance the city immeasurably," said Mayor Peter Milobar. "We wish him success in his new position and look forward to strengthened linkages between our two councils."
