Traffic Safety

Road Safety Campaign

The City of Kamloops, RCMP Kamloops City Detachment, ICBC and the Trauma Services at Royal Inland Hospital have partnered to address mutual concerns about road safety, aiming to educate and engage all road users in their shared responsibility for road safety. It is important for ALL road users to increase their awareness of their surroundings.

Visibility is not just about being seen at night. Being visible also means to see and be seen. Not only do drivers need to be watching for others on the road; all other users need to pay attention too. Motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, medical chair users, in-line skaters and skateboarders are all equally responsible.

People are so plugged in that they are "tuned out". With the onslaught of cell phones, music and media, busy schedules and multi-tasking, we often don't have "our head in the game". Distraction of any kind can lead to disaster.

Take care.

Be aware.

Pay attention.
