Recycling Depot Locations

Changes to Recycling

Effective April 2017, glass and plastic film will no longer be accepted in curbside carts or at City recycling depots.

Please take these materials to one of these private depots:

  • General Grants Recycling Centre - North Shore (611 Fortune Drive)
  • General Grants Recycling Centre - Sahali (963 Camosun Crescent)
  • Lorne Street Bottle Depot (270 Halston Avenue)

Mixed recycling, electronic waste, and Styrofoam are also accepted at private depots. The Lorne Street Bottle Depot also accepts paint.

City of Kamloops Recycling Depots

Bunker Road Recycling Depot - 1455 Bunker Rd
Barnhartvale Landfill Diversion Area - 970 Eliza Road
Mission Flats Landfill Diversion Area - 3095 Mission Flats Road

Recyclables need to be separated into cardboard and mixed recycling. Glass and plastic film are no longer accepted at City depots.

  • Metal (food & beverage, trays, foil)

Bunker Road Recycling Depot

Open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day

Services: Recycling of newspaper, metal cans, cardboard, glass, milk jugs, and mixed paper. No glass or soft plastics.

Mission Flats Landfill Diversion Area

Open 7 days a week, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Services: Recycling of mixed paper, newspaper, cardboard, boxboard, plastic containers, metal cans, batteries, electronics, domestic pesticides, flammable liquids, aerosols, gasoline, household paint, propane tanks, light fixtures, scrap metal, small appliances, thermostats and tires. No glass or soft plastics.

Barnhartvale Landfill Diversion Area

Open 4 days a week, Fri-Mon: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Services: Recycling of mixed paper, newspaper, cardboard, boxboard, plastic containers, metal cans, batteries, household paint, propane tanks, scrap metal, thermostats and tires. No glass or soft plastics.
