Recycling Your Old Containers
Many homeowners have asked, "What should we do with our old trash containers?" Your existing trash containers can come in handy as additional trash receptacles that can be used in the garage, or garden shed, as long as they are not put out on the curb for garbage collection. Here are a couple of other uses for your existing trash cans.
Turn Your Trash Can Into a Composter
A garbage can composter for food or garden waste is inexpensive and easy to build.
Use a plastic trash can with a secure lid and actually roll it around on its side once a day to mix
the contents.
Turn Your Trash Can Into a Rain Barrel
By attaching a simple spigot, garden hose and then collecting
water from your gutters and downspouts, you could be watering a nearby garden while being
conservative with your water supply.
