Mechanical Training
Designated as a Provincial Inspection Facility under the Ministry of Transportation
and Highways, our Mechanical Division requires specialized and constant training to keep
up their skills.
To ensure that our mechanics are always up to date, Kamloops Fire Rescue has been presenting specialized training courses for our mechanics and those courses are also open to other departments.
The Emergency Vehicle Maintenance Workshop has been held in Kamloops from 2002 through 2006 with the exception of the 2003 due to the Fire Storm. The Emergency Vehicle Workshop will be held in Kelowna in 2007 in conjunction with the BC Fire Chiefs' Association Conference.
As a result of the Emergency Vehicle Workshops, a BC Emergency Vehicle Technicians' Association has been formed to provide network and educational opportunities for Emergency Vehicle Technicians throughout BC.
