Kamloops Fire Rescue Suppression Division consists of six fire stations strategically located throughout the city. Three fire stations are manned and operated by full time professional firefighters. One fire station is manned by a combination of full time professional firefighters and auxiliary firefighters, while the remaining two fire stations are operated by auxiliary firefighters and backed up by off & on-duty professional firefighters.
There are currently 86 full time professional firefighters divided into Four
Battalions on staff in the Suppression Division. Each Battalion is comprised of the following:
One Battalion Chief who is responsible for his own Station, his own District and
all Emergencies within that District, as well as the overall operation of the Platoon.
Three Captains; each responsible for their own Station and District, and
all emergencies within their District.
One Lieutenant in charge of the Rescue Vehicle who also covers for Captains
whenever a Captain is away.
