Mechanical Division

Designated as a Provincial Inspection Facility under the Ministry of Transportation, our Mechanical Division is highly specialized and responsible for the maintenance and repair of 15 major and 2 minor pieces of firefighting apparatus, 7 staff vehicles, and auxiliary equipment such as compressors, generators, chainsaws and pumps.

The mechanics are required to inspect our fire trucks for safety in accordance with Ministry of Transportation requirements and test the pumps on fire apparatus yearly. Mechanical facilities at the Sahali Fire Station include a single repair bay, an office, and a parts and equipment storage area.

Our full time staff consists of two Master Mechanics that are "E.V.T. master certified" with additional assistance from on-duty firefighters at the Sahali Fire Station if and when required.
