Kamloops Earth Hour Event
Dim Swim, Canada Games Pool
March 31, 2012 ~ 8 - 9 pm
Turn off your lights at home and joining us at the Canada Games Pool for a swim under dimmed lights. There will be giveaways and prizes for participants.
Everyone can take small steps every day to lessen their impact on the environment, such as using a power bar to turn off electronics that are using "phantom power". Phantom power is energy used by appliances even when in standby mode or turned off. Common appliances that use phantom power include, cell phone chargers, computers, TVs and microwaves.
Last year 10 million Canadians participated to show others that they care about climate issues. Together, we can make a difference. So do your part to raise awareness and take action on climate change by getting friends and family involved. Go one step further and make it two hours! Making small changes collectively add up to huge changes.
Tips on how to spend Earth Hour:
Play a board game under candle light
