Measuring Up

Resource Groups
The Steering Committee will appoint four Resource Groups to assist with the various steps of the Measuring Up initiative and to ensure the dialogue and outcomes are based on inclusive and diverse consultation.

The Resource Groups will operate under the principles and all other applicable Terms of Reference as outlined for the Steering Committee.

The Resource Groups will report to the Steering Committee on plans and outcomes.

The Steering Committee will appoint the Chairperson of each respective Resource Group. The Resource Group Chairperson will in turn make recommendations to the Steering Committee as to the proposed members of that Resource Group for approval by the Steering Committee. The Resource Group chair positions may be filled by members of the Steering Committee if interested and selected.

Once the Resource Group membership is established, that group will prepare an action plan based on its area of focus for presentation to and approval of the Steering Committee.

The Resource Group will be required to report monthly to the Steering Committee on progress of the approved plan.

As per the Measuring Up document, the Resource Groups will focus on the following:

  • Support Services
  • Access to Information
  • Economic Participation
  • Community Contribution

To facilitate the work of this Measuring Up Initiative, the Resource Groups will have the authority to develop Action Teams to complete each action area's tasks. The Action Teams will work as per the Resource Groups - presenting a membership proposal and action plan for approval of the Resource Group and reporting monthly to the Resource Group on progress of the approved plan.

These Action Teams in turn will ensure a broad and diverse participation in the dialogue around each action area.

It is vital that every resource be invited to be part of these dialogues.
