Council Roundtables

Now is your chance to learn more about the City budget and discuss it with your City Council, not from behind a microphone, but up close and personal, sitting at the table.
For three dates at Interior Savings Centre, Council will attend budget meetings, joining you at your table. Listen to department presentations and have a chance to discuss with Councillors what you've heard.
Both you and Council will have opportunity to ask City staff about their budgets. We know it can be intimidating standing in front of an audience to speak about your concerns. If you wish, the Councillor at your table can make those comments for you.
Your ideas won't go unnoticed.
A recording secretary takes down all requests, questions and answers. This information will be provided to Council before their final budget deliberations. It also goes into an official City document for future reference and planning.
You may be surprised at how often input at previous budget sessions has been considered and implemented.
Increased lighting on Tranquille Road, implementation of multi-family recycling, increased investment in sustainability planning, improvements at Westsyde Pool and increasing density in the downtown core are just a few requests we heard at budget meetings and they've all formed part of future budgets.
Don't miss your chance to provide your input. Join us at a Council Roundtable during one of our public budget meetings.
Let's talk.
